Lamp Makeover

So I love to craft. After moving to Warrensburg this fall and getting everything unpacked I decided I needed a lamp next to my bed. So unlike most normal people who would go to Walmart and buy a lamp I hit up good will and found a lamp that I didn’t really like but could make my own. My bedroom furniture is shades of blue and my sheets are coral and black so the pink did not match at all.

The supplies I needed for this project:

  • 1 lamp shade
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • A paint brush
  • Lots of printer paper
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue

Step 1: Paint your lampshade white.  Depending on what your lampshade looks like you may need more than one coat. If you get lucky and find a white lampshade you obviously wouldn’t need to paint it. :]

Step 2: Make a ton of paper flowers. You will want to make them different sizes too so you will be able to fill in the gaps.

I got directions to make them here.

*The link tells you what size to cut your paper. I didn’t get that technical I just freehanded the spirals on the paper. Also it saves time if you cut multiple sheets of paper for each spiral you make.

Step 3: Hot glue them to the lamp. You need a variety of sizes so you can fill the holes. Once your done gluing them all on you are left with a beautiful and unique lampshade!
